Chillwave has had a solid 2-year run, but its time has officially expired. RIP #chillwave.
Toro Y Moi’s creator Chaz Bundick, the original pioneer of chillwave, has jumped the shark with his latest project called Les Sins. Les Sins released its first EP today with “Fetch” and “Taken” (embedded below), and it is unfortunate to report that Chaz has veered away from his roots to experiment with upbeat electronica. It sounds like the ‘lounge’ music they play in a Chipotle:
